Vice Chairman of National Southern Media Authority chairs meeting to discuss reoperation plan of Aden News Agency

The Vice Chairman of the National Southern Media Authority, Mukhtar Al-Yafei, chaired on Sunday, a meeting with a number of journalists, administrators and technicians working for Aden News Agency, in the presence of Dr. Saddam Abdullah, the member of the Authority, head of the press and modern media sector.

The meeting discussed a reoperation plan of the agency in the near future, based on the authority's decision in this regard.

In the meeting, Al-Yafei confirmed that the decision to return Aden News Agency to work has been taken and there is no go back in it, noting that this decision comes in the context of re-operating the work in all the suspended official southern media, including Aden TV and Aden Radio and the October 14 newspaper, which were left to neglected during the past years.

Al-Yafei pointed out that the National Southern Media Authority has made great progress in preparing for the re-launch of the agency by furnishing its headquarters with the latest preparations of offices, technological and technical equipment.

Al-Yafei called on all employees and journalists in the agency to return to work, stressing that the door is open to everyone who wants to work to serve the South and its just cause.

For his part, Dr. Saddam Abdullah confirmed that re-operating of Aden News Agency will make a major shift in the southern media, indicating that work is currently focused on preparing the action plan that the agency will rely on when it is launched, urging everyone to contribute to this in a way that enhances the great role that the agency will play in creating new, distinctive and cross-border media.

Dr. Saddam indicated that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, led by the President Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, pays great attention to the media, as establishing the National Southern Media Authority is a clear clue of that, in which it will supervise the media, including what will be restored and operated, stressing that it will have complete independence and great support to carry out its tasks in transferring truth and media service of the Southern project.

After that, the discussion started by the attendees, who expressed, in their interventions, their happiness with the reoperation of the agency, confirming their complete readiness to start work according to the available capabilities.
