Al-Haj Meets with UN Resident Coordinator

The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Tuesday at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Abdulrahman Jalal Shaher Al-Subaihi, a member of the STC Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.
The meeting discussed a report on the STC’s external diplomatic and political performance, submitted by the Foreign Affairs Authority, and outlined the movements and activities of the STC’s offices and representatives abroad as part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at conveying the cause of the people of the South to international decision-making centres and strengthening engagement with international actors and organisations concerned with political and humanitarian affairs, included covered meetings with government and parliamentary officials, research centres and opinion-makers, as well as international and regional organisations, to brief them on political, security and humanitarian developments in the South and to reaffirm the justice of the cause of the South and the right of its people to restore their state and build national institutions.
The report also highlighted key overseas activities, including protest and solidarity rallies organized by Southern communities in the United States and European capitals in support of the STC and the Southern Forces, and calling on Western governments to recognize the right of the people of the South to restore their state. It further reviewed how global media outlets have covered political and military developments in the South and the impact of this coverage on strengthening regional security and safeguarding international maritime routes.
Furthermore, the meeting examined a report on the conditions of the martyrs' families and those wounded in the southern governorates of the South, presented by the Social Affairs Authority, and detailed the main difficulties and challenges facing these families and mechanisms for providing support and essential services to improve their living, economic, social, and educational conditions, in recognition of the sacrifices they have made in pursuit of restoring the State of South Arabia.
At the end of the meeting, the secretariat touched upon a report of the tasks of the secretariat’s central and local bodies in the governorates, submitted by the Planning, Organization, and Capacity Development Authority, as well as reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting after taking the raised remarks into account.
