Major General Bin Brik gets briefed on status of historical and archaeological monuments in Aden the capital

The Chairman of the National Assembly, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, met on Sunday, at the National Assembly's headquarters, with the head of HUIATI (My Identity) Initiative, Dr. Jacqueline Battani, and the accompanying members.

In the meeting, Dr. Jacqueline briefed the Chairman of the National Assembly on the status of the historical and archaeological monuments in the capital, Aden, and the violations and deliberate destruction they are subjected to, as well as the unauthorized random construction laying on the spaces of these monuments by some of people of power and influencers, in order to erase them and replace them with residential or commercial buildings.

In the meeting, My Identity Initiative demanded rapid intervention to protect this historical landmark, consider its case and address its situation by building a wall to protect the mosque and the cemetery surrounding it, which dates back more than 700 years, as well as cleaning its area and not throwing waste there.

For his part, Major General Bin Brik expressed his reaction with the issue by following-up to its full resolution with the concerned authorities, thanking them for their tireless efforts in preserving the historical and archaeological monuments in the capital, Aden.
