The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held on Sunday, its weekly periodic meeting, headed by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Council and Chairman of the National Assembly, in the presence of the Head and members of the Executive Authority of the Local Leadership of the Transitional Council in Abyan governorate.
The meeting discussed the general leadership performance of the local leadership in Abyan and its districts, evaluating the performance of the various bodies in the governorate and districts, and the obstacles to their work, taking a set of measures aimed at addressing their problems and improving their performance in the future.
The meeting stressed on the need to make more efforts during the next phase, to get closer to the citizens, to address their concerns and needs, and to work with whatever is available to alleviate the suffering and difficult circumstances they are going through.
After that, the meeting reviewed the results of the specialized workshop held by the National Assembly and the General Secretariat last week, with the aim of developing perceptions to define the new tasks of the Council under the parity government between the north and south, and the government's performance of its tasks in accordance with the Riyadh Agreement.
The commission also stood before the deliberate stalemate in the political process that the Muslim Brotherhood leaders operating in the government seek to prolong with the aim of obstructing the achievement of any success of the negotiation process that the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to make.
The Presidency confirmed that this operation is unacceptable, as well as the continued military escalation by this government by pushing the terrorist elements of the Brotherhood militias supported by Qatar and Turkey and the outposts they host to the contact lines, in addition to the deliberate abuse of obstructing the payment, salaries and entitlements of the military in order to weaken the morale of our heroes, calling on the Arab coalition to stop this farce aimed at starving the southern army on the fronts and protect its security and stability.
The meeting also reviewed the weekly performance reports of the Presidency of the National Assembly and the General Secretariat, as well as the ongoing preparations for the major ceremonial event that will be held on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution, and took the necessary measures regarding it.
