The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, held on Monday, its periodic meeting at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, the Assistant Secretary-General.
The meeting praised the successes achieved by the political leadership represented by the President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, and the negotiating team of the Council, and the results of their work and their efforts and external meetings within the framework of the national responsibility entrusted to them for the people and the nation.
The meeting reviewed the reports of the weekly activity of the General Secretariat departments during the past week and the assignments assigned to them.
The meeting affirmed that the Transitional Council stands by the side of the southern military in terms of the siege against their dues and salaries, stressing on the Council’s efforts, as stated in the Council’s Presidency meeting, to work to address their situations, especially in these difficult circumstances.
The meeting saluted the victories achieved by our southern armed forces on various fronts, praising the steadfastness of the southern forces and the role of southern security in enhancing security and protecting southern gains by standing in the face of the military attacks and hostile plans facing the south, especially the attacks of the Houthi militia and the terrorism of the Brotherhood.
The meeting stressed on the need to find solutions to the economic and service situation in the south and in the capital Aden in particular, especially in the field of electricity and the deterioration of the currency, stressing on the importance of the concerned authorities assuming their responsibility towards what the people of the south suffer in this regard, and carrying out their duty towards this deterioration.
The meeting reviewed the political scene report submitted by the Political Department, which included the most prominent political developments regarding the efforts of the Council's negotiating team, the Riyadh Agreement and the mechanism for accelerating its implementation, and the challenges and risks facing the South and the Arab Project, and the important role of the Transitional Council’s partnership with the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the report of the United Nations Group of International Experts, in addition to the Turkish military moves in the region, and Arab and international reactions towards them.
The meeting discussed the performance report of the Social Affairs Department for the period January - August 2020, which included all the activities that the department had implemented and what had been achieved during this period.
The meeting also discussed the most important developments on the local, regional, Arab and international arenas, and the most prominent events related to the south, and its people and its cause.
