The Secretary-General discusses mechanisms of protecting antiquities and historical monuments

The Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Acting President of the Transitional Council, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, chaired on Tuesday, a meeting that included the head of the Cultural Department of the Secretariat, Amr Aqil, and the leadership of the General Authority for Antiquities, headed by Dr. Ahmed Batai, the president of the authority.

The meeting discussed the mechanisms of joint coordination between the cultural department and the General Authority of Antiquities to protect the features and antiquities of the south and the monuments of the capital Aden in particular.

In the meeting, the Secretary-General stressed that the Southern Transitional Council attaches great importance to protecting historical monuments in Aden the capital, and the south in general, directing cultural department to be in full cooperation with the General Authority for Antiquities in this aspect, in order to ensure the protection of antiquities and historical monuments from violations and transgression.

After extensive discussions, it was agreed on the framework to enhance the social partnership between the two sides to achieve the set goals.
