Al-Khubaji reviews with the French ambassador terms of Riyadh Agreement implemented by Transitional Council

The member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Negotiation Affairs Unit, Head of the Transitional Council’s team in the Joint Committee to follow up the procedures of implementing the Riyadh Agreement, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, on Monday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, Mr. Christian Testo, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Yemen, and his deputy, Christophe Katsian.

In the meeting in which members of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council and the deputy and members of the Transitional Council team in the Joint Committee to follow up on the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, Ali Al-Kathiri, Eng. Adnan Al-Kaf, and Abdul Rahman Sheikh, praised France’s efforts in bringing peace to Yemen and the region.

Dr. Al-Khubaji affirmed the commitment of the Southern Transitional Council to the contents of the Riyadh Agreement, appreciating the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the context of implementing the agreement.

He pointed out that the Southern Transitional Council had positively interacted with those efforts and implemented most of its obligations, particularly those related to the implementation of the matrix of executive procedures of the agreement, including withdrawing its units from the Abyan Governorate and collecting heavy weapons, noting that the Yemeni government was not committed to implementing its obligations, particularly what Connects with the withdrawal of its forces from the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, and its insistence not to withdraw the forces coming from Ma'rib under the leadership of Saeed Ma'ali in Shakra in Abyan, and the special forces led by Abd Rabbuh Akab in Shabwa governorate, but rather that they carry out escalation and mobilization operations aimed at thwarting the implementation of the agreement .

Dr. Al-Khubaji reviewed the overall measures taken by the Southern Transitional Council in the context of its commitment to implement the Riyadh Agreement, noting the escalation operations carried out by the Yemeni government forces in the governorate of Abyan and Shabwa, including killings, abuse, and mobilization of terrorist elements and the threat it poses to the south, region and the world.

Al-Khubaji pointed out that reducing the Riyadh agreement in the procedures for implementing the military and security annexes and rejecting the creative implementation of the procedures for implementing the provisions of the political and economic attachment is an insistence through which the Yemeni government deliberately thwarted the Riyadh agreement, which is not acceptable in any way.

Dr. Al-Khubaji stressed the efforts of the Southern Transitional Council to consolidate peace and consolidate its foundations in the south and Yemen, calling on the Yemeni government to firmly order and not allow the extremists who are concerned in attempts to thwart the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.

For his part, the French ambassador to Yemen expressed his hope to overcome all difficulties that hinder the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, valuing the role of the Southern Transitional Council in promoting peace opportunities and supporting Saudi Arabia's efforts in this context.
