The Secretary General of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, met on Sunday at the headquarter of the General Secretariat, Eng. Saeed Mohammed Ali, deputy director of Aden refinery, and the chief engineer, and a number of managers of the refinery departments.
In presence of Mr. Abdul Salam Humaid, Advisor to the President of the Transitional Council for Economic Affairs, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, and Dr. AbdulKawi Al-Solh; head of the department of economy at the general secretariat, the Secretary-General listened to a brief explanation on the status of the refinery and its work during the past period, and obstacles and difficulties facing it.
The Secretary-General discussed with the leadership of Aden refinery proposals and perceptions that would restore the role of the refinery and its leading activity as one of the main pillars of the economy and vital facilities on which the country depends to support its national production and support the public treasury and attract investment.
The Secretary-General stressed on the need to redouble efforts and adhere to the standards, laws and regulatory frameworks that limit the interference and disruption of the work and activity of the refinery and allow all investors to compete away from favoritism and monopoly.
The Secretary-General pointed out that the political situation in the coming days will witness a new transformation, in which the country will be facing a new situation, stressing that this reality should reflect itself on development and contribute to the rotation of the wheel of construction and reconstruction and positively affect the lives of citizens who have suffered so much over the past years, and have to see some improvement in their standard of living.
Lamlas stressed that the leadership of the Transitional Council will remain close and follow-up and will spare no effort to promote the vital institutions and services until it regains its leading role.
For its part, the leadership of Aden Refinery expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Secretary-General and the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council for its continued follow-up and support for the refinery and its operation to restore the activity and return as it was before.
