The local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Aden the capital in cooperation with the Union of writers and authors of the south in Aden organized on Monday a cultural symposium entitled: "The importance of Aden in US policy - relations for more than a hundred years".
The cultural symposium was attended by the member of the presidency of the Transitional Council, head of the local leadership of the Transitional Council in Aden the capital. Dr.Abdul Nasser Al-Wali, and the member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Transitional Council Committee for Relief and Humanitarian Affairs Eng. Adnan Al-Kaff, and a number of writers and intellectuals.
The Head of the Union of writers and authors of the south in Aden, Najmi Abdul-Majid started the symposium by talking about the beginning of the relationship between Aden and the United States of America since the first American ship that arrived to Aden in 1804.
Najmi talked about the history of the establishment of the US consulate in Aden and its role in the region and the American companies that established and the nature of the American interest in Aden with the historical facts that reflect Aden's relationship with the United States.
Dr. Abdul-Nasser Al-Wali praised the importance of the detailed information presented in the symposium.. he said: "The information of the great strategic importance of Aden, and the ambitions surrounding it should not frustrate us, the whole world wants to be a partner with us as our region is global but some minds want to substitute us and want to grab and take everything, in which we need to deal with them wisely."
For his part, Eng. Adnan Al-Kaff stressed on the need to enrich this symposium with more other lectures to be gathered in papers for more benefits to the people.
