The South Transitional Council participates in second joint parliamentary conference on Yemen in Scotland

A delegation of representatives of the department of Foreign Affairs in the Southern Transitional Council participated in the second joint parliamentary conference on Yemen held in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh and the city of Glasgow in the United Kingdom on Thursday, in the presence of a number of parliamentarians, political leaders and a range of international organizations from all over Europe.

During the session, the disastrous humanitarian crisis in Yemen was discussed in addition to how to reach peace and stop the war in Yemen.

The representatives of the Southern Transitional Council stressed on the need to involve the South and its representative in the South Transitional Council in any future negotiations for the United Nations on the crisis in Yemen, pointing out that any solution to the crisis in Yemen that does not include a just solution to the southern national issue will be failed.

In a number of statements by parliamentarians and representatives of international organizations, they mentioned the need to involve the South and its representatives in the Southern Transitional Council in the peace process to ensure a peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen.

For his part, the British Ambassador to Yemen, Michael Aaron, stressed on the importance of finding a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, and stressed on the support of the efforts of the UN envoy and the appreciation of the statements of the envoy towards seeking constructive steps of confidence, including the Stockholm Convention, towards a comprehensive peace process that addresses all outstanding problems, including the southern issue.
