The second phase of the South-South Dialogue, called by the Southern Transitional Council, was inaugurated today in Aden the capital in presence of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, and Mr. Marwan Ali, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen, representatives of international organizations and a large gathering of representatives of parties, political components and activists, politicians, and representatives of civil society organizations.
At the opening session of the event, President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the Southern Transitional Council is open to all, and will not constrain any proposal, in which will welcome any opinion as long as its content and purpose serve the aspirations of our people and achieving their goals to live in peace, and in freedom and independence.
President Al-Zubaidi said to the participants: "When we launched our call for the southern dialogue in early May of 2018, we were sure that your concern for the South and its just cause will lead you to participate actively in this dialogue, and we were sure that your active participation will transfer us to better political circumstances, and will transfer our cause to an advance stage. Today we are confident that this process will be a national achievement that history will preserve for all of us. Today, we are preserving the sacrifices of the southerners and safeguarding their achievements. We guarantee for this homeland, to the people of this nation a safe future, and let's make that what brings us together."
President Al-Zubaidi said: "In the first stage of the dialogue, we have passed through a long way in meeting the various national, political, and social components of the country, all of them are carrying the project of the southern state full of sovereignty, and the restoration of full political rights. At this stage we listened to many views and opinions. as we promised, we went by ourselves to those who couldn't come to us, and we have received others, till we have reached this point now in which we are all become in one square closer than ever before, let us maintain this closeness by participating actively and positively in the second phase of the southern dialogue that we are launching on this blessed day, to confirm to everyone that we are all in the southern arena believe in the importance of constructive and meaningful dialogue to achieve convergence and brotherhood and national cohesion that we seek, and needed by the people and the homeland of the South. ".
President Al-Zubaidi pointed out that the importance of starting the second phase of the southern dialogue launched by the Southern Transitional Council to reach through it with all the free southern forces and fighters to a southern national unity capable of facing the challenges, with the conspiracies that target the southern existence, its identity, its cause, and its geography, with the attacks escalation of the Houthi militias on various fronts against the south, in parallel to the conspiracy attempts led by political Zaidi forces of Houthi and Islamic Brotherhood in well-known scene to anyone, in which the Brotherhood group under the umbrella on the legitimacy stops military fronts with the Houthis, and then hand over military camps and areas adjacent to the south to be with the Houthis.
President Al-Zubaidi stressed on these understandings, which are real threat to the south, and a threat to the Arab project led by Saudi Arabia, should be a motive and incentive for all to strengthen the internal front and strengthen the unity of the southern row, to accelerate the process of reaching the legitimate goal of the restoration of the free southern state.
President Al-Zubaidi added: "It is our duty to be at the level of the sacrifices of our heroes and the support of our generous brothers in the Arab Coalition, and to make concessions in order to reach a unified southern position to achieve the dream of our people to restore the glory and identity of this country.
President Al-Zubaidi continued: "We stand with all our capabilities with the Arab Coalition countries led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and this is a constant stand for us from our concern for the security of the region with its identity and political future, and this does not contradict our national project in the south that reflects the aspirations of our people. "
President Al-Zubaidi recalled: "We stand today in front of a political entitlement that requires us to be coherent, to walk with great political awareness and to be fully aware of all files and issues. We must enhance our political position and ensure that we move forward in order to achieve active participation in the political process in the crisis file under the auspices of the United Nations and the sponsors of the political process, a participation in which we have the space through to ensure the implementation of our full national will and the achievement of our legitimate goals".
At the end of his speech, President Al-Zubaidi wished success to the participants in this dialogue, stressing: "The homeland is waiting for much from you, and the people rely on you a lot, so be on the level of responsibility."
Maj. Gen. Ahmed Said Ben Brik, Chairman of the Southern National Assembly, Chairman of the Dialogue Committee, opened the session with a speech in which he pointed out that the southern homeland is going through a difficult phase with serious and accelerating repercussions and a complex political scene that requires us to open dialogue with all the different divisions and social components with their different directions inside and outside the south , to preserve the mind balance in the consolidation of the political speech under one political leadership leads the people of the south towards the goal of the restoration of the southern state.
The Chairman of the Southern National Assembly called on everyone to work together to achieve the goal of restoring the southern state to full sovereignty, and leave differences and minorities to the greater issue.
A number of speeches also delivered in the session for representatives of the diplomat, youth, and the components and political parties praising this step, as it is important to enhance and protect the home front, stressing that the South is and will be strong and cohesive only for and by all its citizens.
