Southern Transitional Council condemns suppression on peaceful protesters

The Presidency of Southern Transitional Council held its regular meeting today under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Southern Transitional Council, Ahmed Hamid Lamles,.The rapid decline of the local currency, and the terrible consequent of its deterioration on the living conditions of the citizens discussed in the meeting, especially when reaching the point of famine as in Al-Azariq district of Al-Dhalea and Zanzibar of Abyan province.The meeting denounced the huge corruption in the government of Ahmed Obaid Bin Dagher, which led the country to a tragic situation that threatens the lives of millions of citizens.

The meeting called on the citizens to stand in the face of the government policy of starvation , expressing the Transitional Council's support for all the protests and demonstrations rejecting the practices of oppression pursued by the government of corruption.

The meeting praised the popular will expressed in the massive protests across the southern provinces to reject the practices of corruption, looting, and the policy of failure followed by the government of Bin Dagher.

The meeting condemned the acts of repression and the shooting at the peaceful demonstrators in the event of last Thursday in front of the gate of Maasheq Palace, confirming the readiness of the Transitional Council to protect the protesters from any attempts aimed at suppressing their peaceful activities.The Arab coalition was called on in the meeting to put pressure on the government to stop its corruption and reduce its provocative practices against our people in the south.
