Head of the Information Department Dr Abdulla Alho said that the Southern Transitional Council has achieved a great deal in its information department specially that it has issued a number of newspapers and a website as well as it is in the process to launch a satellite channel .
This statement came at the meeting which was held this morning with the local leaders of the information and media departments of the districts in Aden governorate .He said that the Council is facing fierce media campaigns against it and against the people of the South from sources which the people of the South are familiar with .
Alho pointed to the importance of uniting the front specially in the media departments and to broadcast the activities of the districts and their leaderships continuously, urging the media professionals to prepare their plans and projections periodically and to implement them.
Regarding facing the rumours and the fabrications he said that it should be well planned and utilised.
On his part Mansour Saleh deputy of the Information department of the Southern Transitional Council, stressed on the importance of consolidating media discourse to all local leaders in the Southern capital Aden and its districts in particular and the Southern governorates in general .
Mansoor also said that it is vital that the journalist the and the media workers should be credible and work with high professionalism, pointing that the sensitive situation that we are going through needs professional and hard dedicated work to combat and face such negative propaganda campaigns ,which are targeting the STC and the Southern people.
Following the meeting there was open debates where some opinions and proposals were put forward by local leaders, and broadcasters which focused on developing media work and to overcome the difficulties which face them .
