Within the framework of the project "Human rights and security", the STC Rights and Freedoms Department organized today the second training workshop "The Role of Security Officers in the Protection of Human Rights".
The member of the STC presidency and head of the Rights and Freedoms department Niran Souqi said that the three-day workshop aims at informing the 12 participants; officers and sub-officers of Aden Security Department on the concepts of the rule of law, human rights, international legitimacy, international mechanisms for protecting human rights from violations and the legal and moral conduct that should be followed by security men when dealing with human rights issues.
The workshop also aims to provide them with human rights skills of a humanitarian and legal nature to facilitate the tasks assigned to them and to build trust between them and the citizens in addition to define the rights, duties and obligations of each party to prevent future violations.
It is worth mentioning that a similar three-day workshop for 20 Officers and sub-officers of the Security Belt Forces concluded yesterday.
