The Cultural Department of the Southern Transitional Councils’ presidium issued a statement of commiseration on the death of the great journalist and novelist Abdulrahman Abdulkhaleq who died following a long battle with a terminal illness.
The obituary statement, hailed the qualities of the deceased’s’ character with high integrity and high ranks between the artistic, humanitarian and social media and various academics. It also praised his great and generous role in establishing the foundations of the College of Journalism and
Information at the Faculty of Arts at Aden University and the foundations of the Writers and Novelists Union in Aden , of which he was the vice president.
The late Dr Abdulrahman Abdul khaliq worked an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Aden and a lecturer at the information department at the faculty. He was known as one of the great short story writers, where a number of his works were translated to different languages and were published in a number of local, Arabic and international media .
The Southern Transitional Council demonstrated deep sadness and sympathy in the passing of the deceased, asking God Almighty to bless him and lay mercy upon him and to inspire his family and relatives’ patience and fortitude.
