The South Attends 'Peoples Under Occupation Symposium' in Geneva

The Southern issue  was effectively at the center of an International
Symposium titled ' Peoples Under Occupation ' held in the UN Human
Rights Council in Geneva on Thursday 21 September 2017 with the
participation of representatives of a number of countries under
occupation .

The Southern group participated in presenting a vital paper on the
situation of the South and its hardship due to occupation.

The paper was presented by the activist Nasr Obeid which highlighted the
stages of occupation , the existing situation , consequences of the first
invasion of the South in 1994 and the second one in 2015.

The paper affirmed that the people of the South are holding  on tightly to their
right in self-determination and hope in  building up a modern future state ,
calling on the free world to support the southern people in their struggle
for freedom and independence.
A significant number of delegates from countries who are under occupation around the world participated at the symposium to represent their people.
