The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) discussed today, Tuesday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, the political landscape and the rising mass popular movement at sit-in camps across the governorates of the South, during its regular meeting chaired by Mr. Abdulrahman Jalal Shaher Al-Subaihi, a member of the STC Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.
The meeting reviewed the political landscape report by the head of the Political Body, Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi. The report reviewed the latest Southern, regional, and international developments related to the cause of the South during the first half of December, dedicated efforts to maintain security and stability in Al-Mahra and Hadhramaut governorates, and the launch of the military "Decisive Operation" against terrorist organizations as a continuation of the "Arrows of the East" operation, enhancing security and stability locally and regionally.
The meeting also discussed the ongoing popular and political momentum in the open sit-in camps and the masses' demands for the political leadership to declare the State of South Arabia. In this context, the secretariat praised the steadfastness and resolve of the people of the South and reaffirmed that the STC leadership is closely attuned to the pulse of the street and will not hesitate to harness the popular will in any political or negotiation track.
Furthermore, the meeting touched on a report on the tasks of the central and local bodies of the Secretariat in the governorates, presented by the Planning, Organization, and Capacity Development Authority, that covered the activities carried out over the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting after incorporating the raised remarks.
