Crowds and Military Figures from Lahj Governorate Rally in Major Open Sit-In in the Capital Aden

The Parade Square in the Khormaksar district of the capital, Aden, witnessed, on Monday, the arrival of military figures and large crowds from Lahj Governorate's districts, in response to a call from the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the governorate, demanding the declaration of the State of South Arabia.

The large rally commenced from the Sabr point in the Tuban district, proceeding toward the Parade Square in the capital, Aden. The demonstration was led by the head of the Lahj Local Leadership Executive Body, Mr. Waddah Al-Halmi, with columns of participants raising South Arabian flags and images of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi while chanting slogans demanding the declaration of the State of South Arabia.

In his remarks to the crowds, Mr. Al-Halmi stated that the participation of citizens from the districts of Al-Hawtah, Tuban, and Al-Musaimir reflects the depth of the trust between the leadership and the people and expresses the consensus of the Southerners on their national demands, and he called for strengthening national cohesiveness, security, and stability in the South and reaffirmed the continuation of support for the Southern Armed Forces and the persistence of peaceful struggle until freedom and second independence are achieved.

The square also hosted the attendance of the commander of the Security Belt Forces in the capital, Aden, Brigadier General Jalal Al-Rubaiei. In his address, he underscored the significance of the open sit-in and its representation of a national message, affirming the legitimacy of the demands of the people of the South to restore their full sovereign of South Arabia and the continuation of peaceful struggle toward achieving these demands.

Several speeches were delivered during the gathering, hailing the recent victories secured by the Southern Armed Forces in the Wadi and desert regions of Hadramawt, Shabwah, and Al-Mahra. The speakers endorsed the decisions and measures adopted by the political leadership to strengthen security and stability and called upon the regional and international community, as well as relevant stakeholders, to recognize the right of the people of the South to self-determination.

The popular gathering featured the recitation of several enthusiastic national poems, which expressed the steadfast stance of the Southern people and their continued support for the political leadership of the STC, led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.
