STC Secretariat Reviews Final Preparations for 30th November National Independence Anniversary Events

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Tuesday, chaired by Mr. Abdul Rahman Jalal Shaher Al-Subaihi, member of the STC Presidium and the Secretary-General.

During its meeting, the General Secretariat reviewed the level of final preparations for the program of events marking the 58th anniversary of the 30 November National Independence Day, which are scheduled to be held across all governorates of the South, and the ongoing organizational efforts to ensure the celebrations are conducted in a manner befitting this national occasion.

In this context, the General Secretariat urged the people of the South to actively participate in the widespread public events that will be held in the capital, Aden, and all governorates, as this occasion represents a pivotal milestone that formed a historic shift in the trajectory of the historical, political, and cultural identity of the people of the South and a national platform to promote awareness and cement the message that independence was not a passing event but rather the fruit of unrelenting struggles and ultimate sacrifices that continue to underpin regaining the sovereign state of the South.

Furthermore, the Secretariat discussed the general directions of its action plan for the year 2026, presented by the Political Body, which included the strategic vision and orientations of the STC at the political and organizational levels, in addition to tracks for fieldwork and enhancing the institutional presence in the governorates.

The meeting discussed the report submitted by the Planning, Organization, and Capacity Development Body concerning the performance of the central and local bodies during October, in addition to the functional discipline report for November submitted by the Administrative and Financial Body, which included indicators of administrative compliance and ways to enhance work discipline and improve the performance efficiency of the General Secretariat bodies' staff.

The meeting touched on a range of developments on the Southern national scene, alongside a review of the weekly activity report of the central and local bodies, which included a summary of the activities and programs implemented during the past week.
