The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Tuesday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Eng. Nizar Haitham, the Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.
The meeting reviewed the most recent developments across the governorates of the South, with a focus on the key issues, including the halted salaries for public sector employees and the severe deterioration of electricity service in the capital, Aden, as well as in other governorates, and also examined the latest security and political developments at both the regional and local levels.
During the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqqi, the Assistant Secretary-General for Governorate Affairs and University Coordinating Bodies, provided a comprehensive evaluative briefing that outlined the key tasks and programs carried out by the Presidential Guidance and Monitoring Teams in the governorates of the South since the start of their work, focusing on bolstering the Council's fieldwork in line with the requirements of the current phase.
Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the weekly activity report for the tasks of the Secretariat's bodies, which was submitted by the Planning, Organization, and Capacity Development Authority and detailed activities undertaken during the previous week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting after incorporating the raised remarks.
