STC Secretariat Discusses Economic Landscape Report in the South

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Tuesday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Abdul Rahman Jalal Al-Subaihi, a member of the STC Presidium and the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

The meeting discussed a report on the economic and public service conditions in the Southern national arena during the past month of October, submitted by the Economic and Services Authority, which dealt with the economic reform plan being implemented by the government, highlighting the importance of complying with the provisions of the recent decree issued by the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), foremost among them the deposit of all revenues to the Central Bank to maintain the stability of prices for essential commodities amidst the difficult living conditions faced by citizens.

Furthermore, the meeting touched upon the most prominent developments in various governorates of the South, including the persistent power outages in the capital, Aden, and other governorates, due to the absence of fundamental solutions from the relevant authorities to ensure the sustainability of the service.

During the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqqi, the Assistant Secretary-General for Governorate and University Coordination Affairs, provided a comprehensive briefing on the key tasks and programs implemented by the Presidential Guidance and Oversight Teams in the governorates last week to enhance the effectiveness of the Council's fieldwork and align with the requirements of the current phase.

The meeting also reviewed the activity and tasks report of the Secretariat's bodies, submitted by the Planning, Organization, and Capacity Development Authority, which highlighted the key activities carried out over the last week, and the minutes of the previous meeting were approved after incorporating the received feedback.
