Mr. Abdul Rahman Jalal Shaher Al-Subaihi, a member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat, alongside Mr. Moamen Al-Saqqaf, a member of the STC Presidium and head of the local leadership executive body (LLEB) in the capital, Aden, witnessed today, Sunday, the handover event for the duties of the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism to Mr. Salah Al-Aqel, in the presence of Eng. Nizar Haitham, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat, and Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, head of the Media and Culture Authority of the Secretariat.
In his speech during the handover event, which came in implementation of the decree of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the STC President and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), the Secretary-General confirmed that the President's decrees embody the will of the people of the South, ensuring institutional development and enhanced performance of institutions to serve the people of the South.
The Secretary-General reaffirmed the determination of the Transitional Council's leadership to make administrative and political changes to fill the existing gaps, which have long weakened the economic and service-related reforms, and to align the political situation with aspirations of the people.
Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh expressed his happiness at attending the handover procedures, wishing the new deputy minister of Information and Culture all success in his duties, and reiterating the commitment to cooperation and joint work to advance the field of media and culture and propel the wheel of its activity on the ground.
For his part, Salah Al-Aqel articulated his sincere gratitude for President Al-Zubaidi's confidence in him and pledged to dedicatedly work towards rebuilding and promoting media and cultural institutions. In the same context, he urged everyone to exert maximum efforts and provide a positive and constructive work environment.
Mr. Osama Al-Sharmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, spoke in the formal completion of the handover process for the Deputy Minister of Information appointed by the decree of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Transitional Council and Vice Chairman of the PLC, expressing hope that the coming phase would witness tangible progress.
In a separate event, the Secretary-General of the General Secretariat oversaw the handover of duties to two new deputy executive directors of the oil company, Mr. Abdul Rakeeb Ahmed Ali, Deputy for Commercial Affairs, and Mr. Tariq Abdulaziz Hamed, Deputy for Financial and Administrative Affairs, in the presence of Mr. Tariq Abdullah Mansour, the company's Executive Director.
During the handover event, Al-Subaihi stressed the importance of exerting more efforts to promote the company's role and secure the market's needs for oil derivatives, affirming the STC leadership's keenness to support this vital aspect.
