The STC Secretariat Reviews Economic and Political Landscapes in Governorates of the South

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting today, Monday, in the capital, Aden, headed by Major General Kamal Hamshari, a member of the Presidium of the STC and Acting Secretary-General.

At the beginning of its meeting, the Secretariat extended congratulations to President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi on the eighth anniversary of the founding of the STC and renewed its firm pledge and commitment to the people of the South and their political leadership, led by President Al-Zubaidi, in achieving their aspirations to restore and build the independent federal state of the South with its full sovereignty.

The meeting discussed a report submitted by the Economic and Services Department, which highlighted the prominent economic developments during April 2025. The report outlined several key issues, including deteriorating public services, the collapse of the local currency, and the outbreak of epidemics.

The meeting reviewed a report on the political landscape in the national scene of the South during the first half of May 2025, which focused on the STC's growing international clout, including the opening of its mission in Washington, D.C., as well as the recent domestic developments.

The meeting touched on a report on the performance of the Secretariat's departments and local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) in the governorates of the South and the council's university coordination bodies in April, detailing the activities carried out during the mentioned period, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
