President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), has urged the importance of stepping up local, regional, and international cooperation to secure international maritime navigation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden and to put an end to the terrorism perpetrated by the Houthis in this strategic international corridor.
During the meeting with H.E. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Yemen, on Wednesday evening, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, President Al-Zubaidi highlighted the urgency of the international community's decisive stance against the Houthi escalation, which undermines international peace and stability.
In the meeting, the two sides reviewed the deep-rooted historical ties with India and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields, including economic and health sectors, supporting sustainable development, and youth capacity-building programs.
At the end of the meeting, the Indian ambassador reaffirmed the
commitment of the government of his country to supporting efforts aimed at bolstering security and stability in the region, reiterating India's keenness to deepening its bilateral relations in various fields and to scaling up humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of our people caused by the ongoing conflict.
