Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, stressed the importance of strengthening the home front and unifying efforts to counter the threats facing the South and the cause of its people.
This came while presiding over a joint meeting held at the headquarters of the Assembly on Sunday, which included Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, former Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Shaher, member of the STC's Presidium, Major General Ahmed At-Turki, Governor of Lahj Governorate, and Major General Ali Ahmed Al-Bishi, Commander of the Southern Land Forces. Major General Fadl Hassan, Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Mr. Mohammad Al-Shaqqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the STC, Mr. Wadah Al-Halimi, Head of the Local Leadership Executive Body (LLEB) of the STC in the Lahj Governorate, Brigadier General Jalal Al-Rabi'ie, Chief Staff of the Security Belt Forces (SBF), and Commander of the Security Belt Forces in the capital, Aden.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the general situation in Lahj Governorate and urgent solutions to a range of important issues and files in the governorate, with a focus on the security and military situation, in light of the ongoing Houthi escalation on various front lines and the North Lahj fronts in particular.
In this regard, the meeting commended the bravery displayed by the Southern Armed Forces and security services in countering the escalating attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia across all fronts, resulting in heavy casualties in terms of both personnel and equipment.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of integration and coordination between the local authority and the LLEB of the Council, as well as the security services and military units in Lahj Governorate. This, it was agreed, would serve to enhance security and stability and meet the needs of citizens.
