Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, has highlighted that its imperative to maintaining, developing, and rehabilitating the road and bridge network, as well as the implementation of projects to the required standards, are of paramount importance given their role as a vital lifeline serving citizens.
This came during the meeting on Tuesday with the Executive Director of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, Eng. Ali Al-Tub, and his deputy, Eng. Mohammed Nasser. Mr. Al-Kathiri was briefed in detail on the workflow in the corporation and its branches in the governorates, as well as its progress in implementing development plans and projects and its maintenance and quality assurance efforts for roads.
The meeting discussed the crucial importance of enhancing and restoring the corporation's prestigious leading role, stressing the need to continuously expand and modernize the assets, including various mechanisms and equipment, to ensure its constant readiness to enable it to carry out its performance and routine maintenance with optimal efficiency.
The Acting President of the STC praised the efforts of the young leadership and their genuine commitment to enhancing the workflow of the corporation through practical implementation, reaffirming the STC’s keenness, under the leadership of President Al-Zubaidi, to ease all challenges and support the corporation in ways that would develop and improve its performance to serve the public.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Rami Al-Shaabi, Director General of Maintenance at the General Organization for Roads and Bridges.
