Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Sunday, with a number of
tribal and notable figures from the central area in Abyan Governorate, led by Abbas Nasser Al-Saqqaf.
In the beginning, Mr. Al-Kathiri expressed his welcome to all attendees, lauding the unrelenting struggle of the people of Abyan Governorate throughout various stages. He also praised the efforts of sheikhs, notables, dignitaries, and social figures in the governorate for their role in solidifying security, stability, and strengthening the cohesiveness of Southern ranks.
Al-Kathiri was briefed by Al-Saqqaf on the public conditions of the central area in general and Dathina in particular, which highlighted a range of pressing service-related challenges faced by the citizens.
Al-Kathiri affirmed the STC's commitment to improving conditions in Abyan Governorate and promoting community initiatives, fostering public engagement through social forums and various activities in a way that would contribute to raising awareness among society.
In turn, the attendees expressed gratitude to Al-Kathiri for the warm reception, highlighting that Abyan in general and the central area in particular need more attention and care to advance it in all aspects, the most important of which is improving water projects, which constitute a major issue affecting the majority of local people.
