The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its weekly meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.
In the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Assembly gave a brief overview about the high-level joint meeting of the leadership of the STC and the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, highlighting that this meeting comes within the context of the STC's keenness, under the leadership of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, to jointly coordinate with forces opposing the destructive projects adopted by the Houthi militias and terrorist groups with their various names.
In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Essam Abdo, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri reiterated the call to the people of the South to coalesce around the Southern Armed Forces, commending their valiant defending of the entirety of the South with unwavering pride, protecting its land, people, and just cause, which has taught the Houthi militias a series of crushing defeats, demonstrating unparalleled courage and ultimate sacrifice.
The administrative body has stressed the need to avoid mosques from intellectual and sectarian strife, emphasizing the crucial role of guidance offices in regulating a sound religious discourse and highlighting the importance of scrutinizing educational curricula that promote extremist ideologies, which are at odds with the moderate values historically associated with society of the South.
The body subsequently reviewed a report by the Committee of Thought and Religious Guidance concerning the current situation in the South and emphasized the need to bolster the work of endowment offices and administration of thought and guidance within the local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) of the STC in the governorates of the South. The body also stressed the importance of intensifying awareness campaigns to inoculate society against extremist ideologies that distort the noble religion of Islam and its tolerant teachings, particularly those ideologies propagated, adopted, and supported by the Houthi militia and terrorist groups.
At the end of its meeting, the body touched on a range of issues pertaining to the overall situation in the South and took the appropriate measures.
