Al-Kathiri Highlights Crucial Role of Central Statistics Offices in the South


Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Thursday, with Directors-General of offices of the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) in the governorates of the South.

During the meeting, Mr. Al-Kathiri was briefed by Ms. Jamila Saeed, Director of Branches Administration at the CSO, on the activities in the governorates, its operational mechanisms, ongoing training and qualification programs to enhance staff capabilities, and the challenges facing the organization's performance at various levels.

Al-Katiri emphasized in the meeting the critical role played by the CSO's offices in collecting, updating, and conducting field surveys to provide accurate indicators in various sectors. He affirmed the STC's readiness to contribute to resolving any obstacles that might hinder the organization's work in capital, Aden, and the rest governorates of the South to provide the required support to ensure the success of its tasks.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Khathiri highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination among the CSO, local authorities, and local leadership executive bodies (LLEBs) of the STC in the governorates to achieve the best possible results.
