Assembly's Administrative Body Stands Before Security Situation in the Capital, Aden, and Governorates of the South

The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Wednesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly and Acting President of the STC.

In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Esam Abdo, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri reviewed the latest national developments, particularly the ongoing investigation into the abduction of Colonel Ali Ashaal al-Jaadani. Al-Kathiri commended the security forces for their efforts in making significant progress in the case and securing arrest warrants for the fugitives, emphasizing that opposing forces have been attempting to politicize the case for ulterior motives, undermining the pursuit of justice.

Al-Kathiri praised the government efforts that resulted in a number of executive measures for the matrix of urgent solutions to halt the economic and service deterioration, which were approved in the special meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

During the meeting, the security committee presented a comprehensive report on the security situation in the capital, Aden, and other governorates of the South, as well as the level of readiness of forces along the frontlines with Houthi militias.

The security committee concluded its report with a recommendation to complete, build, and develop the southern security services on a national foundation; this would involve equipping them with modern and advanced resources, as well as invigorating the intelligence operations of specialized security services to keep pace with rapid global developments. The committee suggested leveraging international and regional expertise in this field and providing ongoing training for leaders in military colleges and academies.

The body concluded its meeting by reviewing a report by Mr. Nasser Harhara, the rapporteur of the Assembly, who provided an assessment of a foundational parliamentary training course, which was recently conducted for the heads and deputy heads of the Assembly's committees, as this course was organized in collaboration with the STC's Training and Qualification Commission as part of the council's sustained commitment to developing the skills and expertise of its personnel. It is worth mentioning that the training program was designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and abilities to effectively fulfill their legislative and parliamentary roles.
