Al-Muharrami Discusses Enhancing Maritime Security and Combating Smuggling with the CGA


Mr. Abdul Rahman Abu Zara'a Al-Muharrami, Deputy President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), met today, Sunday, in the capital, Aden, with the leadership of the Coast Guard Authority (CGA), headed by Major General Khaled Al-Qumali, Head of the CGA.

The meeting was dedicated to discussing the current situation of the CGA, the level of readiness of its forces, engines, and equipment, and exploring ways to enhance its performance in confronting all threats.

During the meeting, the performance of the CGA over the past period was evaluated, and the achievements made in light of the annual plans and programs set by the CGA's leadership were reviewed, as well as the challenges facing their work during the aforementioned period.

In the same context, Al-Muharrami underscored the importance of the CGA to intensify its efforts and work to enhance its military and security capabilities, establish specialized training programs to qualify its officers and personnel, and raise their capabilities and polish up their skills, affirming the council's readiness to provide all forms of support to the leadership of the CGA to carry out its maritime security tasks with efficiency and competence.

In turn, Major General Khaled Al-Qumali reiterated the CGA's commitment to implementing the directives of the Council, working to enhance maritime security, combating smuggling and maritime illegal acts, raising the level of performance, and developing work in all fields.
