STC Secretariat Urges Government to Fulfill Demands of Shabwah to Build Oil Refinery in the Governorate

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) called on the government to fulfill the demands of Shabwah people to construct an oil refinery in the governorate. In the same context, it highlighted the importance of re-operating the Aden refinery due to its vitality in supporting and improving the economic situation in the country.

This came during the periodic meeting held by the General Secretariat today, Thursday, at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC's Presidium and Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

During its meeting, the Secretariat expressed congratulations and blessings from the STC to the people of the South, its armed forces, and the Hadhrami Elite Force (HEF) in particular, on the occasion of the 8th anniversary of the liberation of the Coast of Hadhramout from terrorist organizations.

The meeting discussed a report on the economic scene in the southern national arena during the months of March and April of the current year 2024, submitted by the Economic and Service Department, which stressed the importance of facilitating procedures for businessmen to establish investment and development projects in the capital, Aden, and the rest of the governorates of the South, in addition to focusing on a range of service and health conditions.

The Secretariat reaffirmed its stand with all the demands of the citizens to improve services and reform all the imbalances in state facilities, which they express in peaceful and correct ways, calling on the security services at the same time to confront those who try to undermine security and stability and turn demands for better services into suspicious orientations against the cause of the people of the South and their demands to restore their state.

The meeting also reviewed a report submitted by the Organizational Department on the performance of the departments of the Secretariat during the first half of the current year, and ways to develop and strengthen their work to contribute to the implementation of the goals and visions of the STC on the path to achieving the aspirations of the people of the South.

 At the end of its meeting, the secretariat touched on the weekly activity report of departments of the secretariat and what they had implemented during the mentioned period, as well as reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
