The Administrative Body of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting today, Tuesday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the STC and Chairman of the Assembly.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by his deputy, Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, the Chairman of the Assembly, stressed the importance of continuing what has been accomplished by the previous committees since the founding of the Assembly to complement the legislative and oversight work within the framework of the STC.
The meeting then discussed a set of visions and ideas that enhance the plans of the committees during the coming period, within the framework of the tasks and jurisdictions of each committee. In this regard, Mr. Al-Kathiri emphasized the need for each committee to prepare an integrated vision, consult with the leadership of the Assembly on what is necessary regarding field visits to institutions and offices of ministries, and submit it to the administrative body for discussion in its meetings during the coming period.
Furthermore, the Body listened to a report presented by the Head of the Legislative and Legal Committee, Dr. Asmahan Mardouf bin Brik, on the current legal status of the South and its cause, the stages and turning points that the southern liberation revolution passed through until the Riyadh Agreement, and the consultations sponsored by the Gulf Cooperation Council, affirming that the Legislative and Legal Committee will outline its future plan on developing plans and proposals based on the current situation in the South, and the legal status of the South and its cause.
At the end of its meeting, the body touched on a range of local and regional developments related to the situation in the South, in addition to organizational topics and issues related to the work of the committees, and took the appropriate measures in this regard.
