Al-Kathiri Gets Briefed on Combat Drug Department Efforts at the Ministry of Interior

 

Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met today, Sunday, with Brigadier General Abdullah Ahmed Lahmdi, Director General of the Combat Drugs Department at the Ministry of Interior.

In the meeting, which was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Mayas Al-Jaadani, Director of the Investigation Department, and Lieutenant Khamis Lardhi, Director of the International Cooperation Department, Mr. Al-Kathiri listened to a full explanation of the department's workflow and its ongoing efforts to combat drugs in society by arresting drug dealers and users in various areas of governorates of the South.

The Chairman of the Assembly was also briefed on what has been fulfilled during the last period, the control mechanisms used by the security units specialized in combating drugs, and the challenges facing the department and ways to overcome them.

Al-Kathiri praised the great role of the combat drug administration and its efforts to control its spread, pointing out the importance of intensifying programs, raising awareness through lectures, and conducting various workshops to combat this scourge in society.

Al-Kathiri affirmed the support of the STC, through its competent bodies, departments, administration, committees, and local authorities in the governorates, for the combat drugs department and its readiness to coordinate work with it to carry out its tasks to the fullest.
