The Council of Advisors (CA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held today, Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, its founding meeting under the slogan “To enhance and develop the political and institutional performance of the STC." under the generous patronage of President Aidarous bin Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, Chairman of the House of Commons, and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).
The meeting, which was attended by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, began with verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthem of the South, and standing a tributive minute to read Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs of the South, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, head of the Political Commission and Negotiations Affairs Unit, delivered a speech in which he reviewed the most prominent political developments on the scene.
Through his speech, he presented a brief overview of the political process that included the road map, the transitional phase, and the agreement on the final solution, affirming its ineffectiveness if it does not meet the aspirations of the people of the South and praising the role of the CA, which consists of elites of the South from all the governorates of the South, and wishing them all success in properly performing their duties and tasks.
For his part, Mr. Ahmed Al-Rubaizi, Vice Chairman of the CA, gave a speech at the beginning of which he conveyed the greetings of Major General Ali Nasser Lakhsha, member of the Presidency of the STC and Chairman of the CA, to all attendees, wishing him a speedy recovery, and in which he touched on the importance of the defining stage in the path of the cause of the people of the South and the restoration of their state, explaining the great national responsibility that is put on the shoulders of the CA to serve the South and its people. Moreover, he urged all participants to redouble efforts in this context.
The meeting stood before a range of important topics and issues related to completing the organizational and political structure of the CA, where the internal regulations of the CA were discussed and approved, taking into account all the comments submitted by the members, and the members of the board were distributed into the 15 permanent advisory committees.
It also approved the structure of the Council's permanent advisory committees and the formation of a secretariat to document the proceedings of the meeting, which led to the following recommendations:
1. To consider the speech of President Aidarous bin Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, which his excellency delivered at the meeting of the House of Commons on 1/2/2024, as given directives to all members of the CA in their public activity or activity within the framework of their advisory committees.
2. The participants in this session approved the internal regulations of the CA with the comments received thereon.
3. The participants in the founding session recommended the need for strict compliance and creative application of what was included in all the literature of the STC, in particular the political vision, the by-laws of the STC, and the internal regulations of the CA.
4. The participants in the session recommended that all committees of the CA should fully understand all their tasks and jurisdictions contained in the internal regulations of the CA and work to implement them in a team spirit.
5. The session participants recommended that each advisory committee work to develop its own detailed plan, leading to the development and implementation of all its tasks and competencies.
6. The participants in the session recommended the need to expedite the completion of the arrangements for preparing the Council’s headquarters so that the Council’s advisory committees can carry out the assigned tasks and functions as per what is contained in the Council’s internal regulations.
