Al-Haj Reiterates Welcome of International Organizations Working in the South

The Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Dr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Haj, met on Thursday in his office with the country director and head of mission at the Centre for Civilians in Conflict, CIVIC.

The meeting discussed a range of topics, foremost of which are the activities implemented by the CIVIC Centre, such as raising awareness campaigns and rehabilitation courses in the southern governorates of the South, in addition to plans and programs related to the fields of work of the centre.

Dr. Al-Haj reiterated the STC's welcome to the work of all international organizations and to facilitate their work procedures in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South, noting the important role of the Civic Centre in raising the awareness of personnel of the southern armed forces and security in human rights, protecting civilians, and supporting peacebuilding.

During the meeting, Al-Haj praised the regional and international efforts to bring peace to the country and also highlighted developing a special negotiating framework for the cause of the people of the South during the negotiations of the comprehensive political process to ensure the realization of the aspirations of the people of the South and their right to self-determination and the restoration of their state.

For her part, Ms. Dina Al-Mamoun praised the cooperation of the STC in easing the procedures followed, which in turn contributed to the implementation of the centre’s activities and the conducting of a number of workshops and training courses, expressing the centre’s aspiration to enhance aspects of cooperation and coordination with the council to implement more programs.
