NSMA Holds Special Meeting to Discuss Developments in Peace Efforts

The National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held on Sunday a special meeting, chaired by Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of NSMA and spokesman of the STC.

The meeting discussed the results of the visit of President Aidarous Al-Zoubaidi to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the latest political developments related to the peace process, and relations with the political components opposing the Houthi militias.

In the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Al-Awlaqi re-affirmed the position of the STC in support of efforts to end the war and bring about peace led by the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and on the pivotal cause of the people of the South to be present in all phases of the political process, starting with the ceasefire phase and the subsequent stages, and developing its special negotiating framework as per the outcomes of Al-Riyadh Consultations.

Al-Awlaqi referred to the tireless efforts of the STC in strengthening the southern national alignment and cohesiveness to meet the upcoming entitlements with consensus and partnership and enhance the home front of the people of the South.

In addition to that, NSMA discussed the orientations of the STC to expand the circle of relations and coordination with the forces opposed to the Houthi militias and the political components included in the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) in a way that serves commonalities and the readiness of the PLC for the peace process.

Similarly, NSMA called on the anti-Houthi political components and forces to formulate a media and political discourse that promotes awareness of the common interests to reach a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace.

The meeting approved a range of media orientations related to the discussed topics.
