Al-Kathiri Chairs Expanded Security and Military Meeting and Approves Number of Decisions and Tasks

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, chaired on Thursday an expanded meeting of military and security commanders in the presence of Mr. Fadhl Mohammad Al-Gaadi, Secretary-General of the Presidium of the STC, and members of the Council’s Presidium like Major General Haitham Qassem Taher and Major General Kamal Hamshari, Officr Director of the President of the STC.

In the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Al-Kathiri conveyed to the military and security commanders and all personnel of the Southern Armed Forces the greetings and congratulations of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), on the momentous occasion of the 60th National Day of the glorious 14 October Revolution.

In the meeting, which was devoted to discussing mechanisms for enhancing security in the capital, Aden, and neighbouring governorates, in addition to developing plans for coordination and integration between the various security services and military forces, Al-Kathiri commended the achievements made by the southern armed forces at the military and security levels, highlighting the importance of raising security and military readiness and being fully vigilant and well-prepared to implement proactive tasks to thwart all threats and hatched plans targeting the South, its people, and its gains.

The meeting approved a number of firm decisions and, inter alia, tasks that must be implemented at the current stage, most notably the resumption of the campaign to prevent and control all different types of motorcycles and cars and vehicles with no number plates, as well as the seizure of unlicensed weapons, based on the decision of the Security Committee in the capital, Aden.

The meeting set Sunday, October 22, 2023, as the date for launching the campaign in all cities of the capital, Aden, with the participation of various security services, after giving the Security Committee in Aden, in its last meeting on October 4, a 10-day deadline for motorcycle owners to shift them from the capital, Aden.
