NSMA Holds Periodic Meeting and Discusses Institutional Development Mechanisms

The National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held on Sunday its periodic meeting, chaired by Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of NSMA, which is devoted to discussing institutional development mechanisms.

In the opening speech, Mr. Al-Awlaqi asserted that the current situation in the South is sensitive and requires all to make concerted efforts to preserve the gains achieved by the STC and to steadfastly encounter the challenges facing our people and our just cause.

Al-Awlaki highlighted the importance of constructing a clear and sound-bound southern media discourse on all various topics and issue, foremost of which is the pre-determination of the special negotiating framework for the cause of the South in the comprehensive negotiations, emphasizing that natural resources are the sovereign prerogative of its people and should be directed to address the crisis of salaries and public services in the cities and areas of the South, and supporting the efforts of the security service in combating extremism, terrorism and preserving national fundamentals dictated by the Presidium of the STC, and working to follow up all developments to serve the just cause of the South and legitimate and aspirations of it's people.

The meeting discussed the mechanisms of institutional development through the documents received by NSMA from the Institutional Development Commission of the STC and approved for circulation to all sectors of NSMA.

Furthermore, the meeting listened to an explanation from Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, head of the radio and television sector of the STC, about the conditions and visions of the future for promoting radio and television broadcasting, in addition to the ongoing programs to well-qualify the working staff.
