STC's Secretariat Discusses Economic Scene and Performance Report of Media and Cultural Department

The General Secretariat of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Wednesday at its headquarters in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the STC's Presidium and deputy secretary general.

The meeting discussed a report on economic scene, which was presented by the Economic and Service Department, and the prominent economic developments in the southern arena, including the pledge provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the extent of its impact on the lives of citizens, benefiting from it in stopping the collapse of the local currency, supporting the purchase of basic food items for citizens, and calling for the restructuring of the Central Bank.

The meeting reviewed the performance report of the Media and Cultural Department during the second quarter of this year 2023, which included the activities and initiatives implemented during the aforementioned period.

The meeting focused on a range of developments taking place in the governorates of the South, foremost of which is administrative and financial corruption and poor government performance, in addition to the measures imposed by the government to prevent the textbook printing press from performing its duties in printing textbooks. The secretariat highlighted in this context that the government should facilitate the work of the press to avoid disrupting the workflow of the educational process with the start of the new school year.

The meeting also touched on a report on the completion of the activities of the departments of the Secretariat during the past week, in addition to reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting.
