Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Monday, with Brigadier General Abdul-Rahman Ali Yahya, head of the Independent Southern Anti-Corruption Commission (ISACC).
In the meeting, which was attended by Eng. Mohammad Sheikh Banafa, deputy head of the Commission, Major General Bin Brik was briefed on the ISACC's activities and its self-efforts in combating corruption within state institutions, which has unfortunately been rampant and worsened with the collapse of the state due to the war.
Major General Bin Brik praised the ISACC's self-efforts to combat corruption, stressing the need to expand its activities to include all institutions, ministries, and offices in the South to uncover corruption and submit a report to the leadership of the STC to fix the situation and alleviate the suffering of citizens.
Major General Bin Brik confirmed that the leadership of the STC supports all local and international institutions and organizations that seek to improve the general situation in the governorates of the South.
For his part, the head of the ISACC congratulated and blessed the impressive success achieved in the sixth session of the Assembly held in Al-Mukalla and the consultative meeting, which culminated in the signing of the Southern National Charter.
Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Yahya confirmed that the ISACC considers itself part of the STC in combating corruption and reforming all imbalances within the institutions.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Ahmed Muthanna, representative of TAJ in America, and Dr. Sarah Al-Yafei, head of (Nabd Al-Hayat Foundation).
