Al-Kathiri Chairs Expanded Meeting to Discuss Overall Situation with GFWUS and Representatives of Military and Security Bodies of the South

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Monday, with Colonel Mohammad Ali Saleh Al-Awban, Commander of the Special Forces in Abyan Governorate.
The meeting discussed the conditions of the special forces in Abyan governorate and the mechanisms for organizing their performance and raising efficiency in implementing entrusted tasks as per laws and regulations.
Major General Bin Brik stressed the keenness of the leadership of the STC on the unity of the southern ranks and the defence of the southern land in the implementation of the National Charter and the outcomes of the sixth session of the National Assembly, which was held in the middle of last month in Al-Mukalla.
The Vice President of the STC gave directives on the formation of a joint committee consisting of the commanders of the special forces in Aden, Lahj, Abyan, and Al-Dhale'a and the commander of the Abyan axis to remove existing obstacles through legal methods and military regulations.
For his part, Colonel Mohammad Al-Awban affirmed his full readiness to defend the southern homeland and his commitment to implement the instructions of the supreme leaders of the STC, led by President Aidarous bin Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdullah Elayan, a member of the National Assembly, Lieutenant Colonel Awad Ahmed Awad Maraj, advisor to the commander of the special forces, First Lieutenant Mansour Ali, commander of the special forces in the central region, and Mr. Ahmed Qassem, office director of the chairman of the Assembly.
