STC's Foreign Affairs Discusses Ways to Promote Role of UNOPS in Governorates of the South

Mr. Raafat Al-Alawi, Head of the International Organizations Section at the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met on Tuesday in the capital, Aden, with the head of the sector of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, and Dhale'a governorates at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Eng. Ramses Younis. 

The meeting discussed ways to enhance the positive role that the UNOPS plays in implementing various projects in the South and their intervention in many vital sectors like water and solar energy. 

Mr. Al-Alawi affirmed the readiness of STC to assist UNOPS in overcoming any challenges that contribute to alleviating citizens' suffering and ease the work of international organizations.

For his part, Eng. Younis reviewed the multifaceted areas of cooperation and coordination between UNOPS and STC, in addition to highlighting the requirements that can contribute to accelerating the pace of work in implementing projects. 

The meeting was attended by Mr. Husam Abdullah, Assistant for Services and Logistics Support at UNOPS, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Wali, Head of Coordination and Facilitation Office of International Organizations.
