Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), and the deputy secretary general met on Monday in his office in the capital, Aden, with Mr. Edward Jackson, Director of the Office of the UN Envoy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Fadl Al-Gaadi praised the great endeavors made by the United Nations to converge the views of all parties in the crisis to find a political solution to end the war, in addition to its role in helping the people of the South and standing by them in the humanitarian crisis, the difficult living conditions, and the collapse of the local currency, stressing that the deep faith of the southerners in their just cause is what makes them bear all ordeals and suffering.
Mr. Al-Gaadi spoke about the Southern National Pact, which will unite all the southern forces and which will be the first building block for deeply-seated believers in the project to restore the state of the South to launch the entitlements and rightly present the southern cause to the world, expressing his optimism in the course of events taking place in the South.
Al-Gaadi indicated that the Southern National Dialogue launched by the STC came to enhance all Southerners' cohesiveness, and its results will be announced in May to reach a clear southern national code of honour for all forces that believe in restoring the state of the South.
For his part, the Office Director of the UN Special Envoy expressed his happiness with this meeting, affirming that communication continues between the Office of the UN Envoy and the actors involved in the political process to reach a comprehensive solution to end the war and establish peace.
