GDFA Holds Regularly-Scheduled Meeting

Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC),today,sunday chaired GDFA’s periodic meeting in the capital, Aden. 

At the meeting, which was attended by a team of advisors and heads of departments and, through videoconferencing, representatives of its offices abroad, Al-Sharafi reviewed the developments of the comprehensive political process and political developments on the local, regional and international arena.

Al-Sharafi reiterated the STC's congratulations for the efforts of the official brothers in the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing the importance of stabilizing the ceasefire on the fronts to ensure everyone's involvement in the comprehensive political process, until reaching a comprehensive and sustainable solution in the region, and at the forefront of that is resolving the cause of the people of the South, including Achieving the restoration and building of an independent federal state on the pre-May 1990 borders.

Al-Sharafi stressed the adherence of the STC to its firm position regarding the priority of the cause of the people of the South and its inclusion in the political track within  its special negotiating framework commensurate with the size of the South as an active party in the political process, indicating that the two-state solution is the only way to a comprehensive solution and achieve lasting peace, security and stability in the region. 

Al-Sharafi listened to briefings by representatives of foreign affairs in the Russian Federation and the Swiss Confederation, on diplomatic contacts, activities and programs that were carried out during the first quarter of this year,2023, and a number of decisions related to strengthening diplomatic communication and developing the performance of foreign affairs were taken.
