Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, held this evening, Tuesday, a joint meeting with members of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Southern Media, the Southern Journalists and Syndicate of Journalists, and a number of media professionals in media institutions and editor-in-chiefs of southern newspapers and news websites. At the beginning of the meeting, Major General Bin Brik expressed his happiness at meeting this constellation of journalists and media professionals after the great results that achieved by the first conference of southern journalists and media professionals, blessing the formation of the Southern Journalists and Media syndicate , which is reliable to serve the reality of the southern media, and triumph for all southern journalists and media professionals.
The Acting President emphasized the importance of the media role at this important phase in creating national alignment, spreading the spirit of tolerance, contributing to strengthening southern cohesiveness, creating public opinion and directing it in the right direction, in light of the upcoming political changes and events in order to achieve the legitimate and just goals and aspirations of the people of the South in restoring and building their state on all of its national territory.
Major General Bin Brik stressed the importance of unifying discourse and media messages and avoiding quarrels and rumors that enemies try to spread through websites or social media to stir up regional and sectarian strife among the people of the south.
At the meeting, Major General Bin Brik reviewed the results of the visits of the STC's leadership, the strategic vision of the council and its orientations for the current and upcoming phase.
