STC's Presidium: Reiterates Adherence to Setting up Special Negotiating Framework for Cause of the South in Ending War Negotiations and Comprehensive Political Process

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Thursday, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the Presidium of the STC and Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

The meeting listened to an analytical monitoring report submitted by the Decision-Making Support Center (DMSC) for the month of February and to a briefing by Mr. Saleh Mohsen Al-Hajj, head of the Internal Southern National Dialogue Team (ISNDT), which included the team's activities during the aforementioned month, and its work plan for the next phase.

The Presidium, too, listened to a briefing by Mr. Mohammed al-Ghaithi, head of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC, the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission (CRC), and members of the CRC from the STC, in which they explained the exerted efforts by the CRC to accomplish its entrusted tasks.

Mr. Mohammed al-Ghaithi emphasized that, within the framework of the CRC’s diagnosis of the situation, its committees submitted drafts to the meeting of the General Assembly, and during the deliberations, the members of the STC raised their remarks and written amendments on all issues in accordance with the vision of the STC, which undertakes and represents the cause of the people of the South and its goal of restoring the state of the South.

Likewise, the STC's members in the CRC indicated that the discussions that took place were compatible with the seriousness of the STC in a constructive partnership as per the Riyadh consultations in April 2022, affirming that there are no political agreements or final approved documents yet, as promoted by the media.

Mr. Al-Ghaithi added that the headship of the CRC works to collect the remarks and amendments of the members and their deliberations to measure the level of consensus and its opportunities, as well as the chances of reconciliation in accordance with the recognition of the issues of these forces, and at the forefront of that is the cause of the people of the South and setting up a special negotiating framework in the negotiations to cease the war and the comprehensive political process, indicating that the CRC will continue to review the entrusted contentious issues to support the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

In this respect, the Presidium praised the efforts made by the Chairman of the CRC and members of the STC and asserted its full support. Moreover, the meeting reaffirmed the STC's unwaveringly sticking to its national goal, which will never deviate from or settle for less than that goal under any circumstances.
