STC's Representative in Germany Meets with Head of Middle East Department-BF

The representative of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) to the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Amin Al-Ghazali, met on Thursday morning with the Head of the Middle East Department- Berghof Foundation, responsible for BF's projects in the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Oliver Wils, in the German capital, Berlin.

At the meeting, Dr. Al-Ghazali reviewed the most prominent political, economic, security, and humanitarian developments in the South and Yemen and the terrorist operations by the Houthi militia that threaten international peace and security.

Al-Ghazali underscored that the STC supports any peace process to cease the war in a way that accommodates all parties and issues on the scene and takes into account the reality on the ground, as well as the causes and roots of the conflict, in a way that achieves the just demands of the people of the South to restore and build their independent state of the South.

Al-Ghazali stressed the importance of concerted efforts to boost and revive the economy and get people out of poverty and unemployment.

Al-Ghazali noted the role of the southern forces in combating terrorist organizations, hoping that all countries of the world would support the efforts of the STC and the southern forces in this contemporary issue of the world.

For his part, Mr. Wils highlighted the importance of accommodating all parties in a comprehensive political process led by the United Nations in a way that guarantees strengthening security and peace in Yemen, expressing his hope to put an end to the ongoing fighting and to create radical solutions that bring the conflicting parties out of the warfare and contribute to serving citizens and addressing the humanitarian situation.
