At its meeting, the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Tuesday, chaired by General Major Ben Brik acting in charge of the STC and the chairman of the National Assembly, assigned a joint security and military committee to go to the Ras al-A'ra area in Lahj Governorate to verify any construction projects in the coastal strip extending from the Salah al-Din area to al-Mandeb strait and submit a detailed report to the Presidium of the STC for action.
At the meeting, which was attended by several ministers of the STC in the power-sharing government, the Presidium called on the Prime Minister to expedite the disbursement of annual increments and financial settlements of state employees that were still pending in the Central Bank after completing procedures by the relevant ministries.
The Presidium, too, instructed the Minister of State, the Governor of the Capital, and the local authorities throughout the governorates of the South to direct the offices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to form field teams to control and inspect prices, markets, and commercial activities, and to report any violations.
In a separate context, the Presidium lauded the valour of our southern armed forces in confronting the escalation of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the fronts of Al-Dhale'a, Yafe'a, Karesh, and Al-Musaimir in Lahj governorate, and Mukairas in Abyan governorate, stressing the need for the government to assume its responsibilities by providing logistical support and assistance to forces stationed on the fronts against Houthi terrorism with efficiency and competence.
In the same context, the Presidium directed the command of the ground forces to raise the degree of
vigilance and combat readiness on various fronts to deal with provocations of the terrorist militias backed by Iran.
To the end of its meeting, the Presidium stood before a number of security developments and took the necessary measures.
