The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, met on Wednesday evening, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accredited to Bahrain, Oman and Yemen, Mr. William Elischer.
In the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political and economic developments, efforts to combat terrorism in the South, and the progress in the ongoing consultations held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The Australian Deputy Head of Mission listened from Major General Ben Brik, to a detailed explanation of the dire economic, service and living conditions in the governorates of the South and the suffering that citizens are experiencing there, as a result of the currency collapsing and the continuation of the suffocating crises.
The Chairman of the National Assembly stressed on continuing the role and efforts of STC as an effective partner in combating terrorism, maintaining security and stability of the international maritime lanes, and establishing security and stability in the governorates of the South.
Major General Ben Brik indicated that the presence of STC in the Riyadh consultations sponsored by the Cooperation Council for the States of the Arab Gulf (GCC), is to support the efforts to establish peace and to record a supportive position for the Arab Coalition to outline ideas for reforming the legitimacy to confront the current challenges and address all national files and issues, foremost of which is the cause of the State of the South and urgent issues related to the live of citizens.
